Like
all unprotected screens, the tomtom units are susceptible to damage. You
can buy screen protect plastic sheets that stick to the screen but can
be removed and replaced many times. The price of screen
protect products range from anything from £0.40 to £20 each. The ones I
have just bought are just £1.99 for 5 ! and are made by
MEXXPROTECT. (27/11/07) Supplied by FairPrices24.com
Via Amazon Marketplace (info@FairPrices24.com) FairPrices24 is a
German company with many products, but the attraction for me was the
very low price of the 720 screen protects, I had previously bought the
Mexxprotect for my 710. The secret of fitting these screen
protects, is to use a credit card to ease out the bubbles, don't
try and rub them out or to push them across the screen, you simply press
against the side of a bubble, stop ! and let the bubble move forward on
its own.
- Remove part of the backing paper.
- Place the edge of the sticky side on the screen.
- Drop slowly while peeling the rest of the backing paper.
- Do not press the protect into place, instead start to remove the
bubbles.
- If you spend 30 min gently easing out the bubbles, they can all
be removed.
Having bought these before for my tomtom 710, and knowing they
last for years, what am I going to do with 4 other screen protects
?. If you don't get it right the first time, you will have 4 more to
use, and at 40 pence each you cant go wrong. |
